With more than 200,000 thousand residents Yonkers is the 4th largest city in New York State. Yonkers comprises more than 38 unique neighborhoods and offers its visitors great cultural diversity. Yonkers, with more than 4 miles of riverfront along the majestic Hudson boasts one of the most spectacular vistas onto the Palisades and has been depicted in many of the great works by Hudson River School artists. The Hudson River Museum and the newly built Yonkers waterfront library are just 2 of the many historically and architecturally significant showplaces within the City. Downtown Yonkers is within 20 minutes of Manhattan either by train, car or a soon to launch commuter ferry, making it the most accessible suburb to the New York City area.
“X2O Xaviars on the Hudson” is under construction and is scheduled to open in early 2007. The restaurant which is located on the historic Yonkers city pier will offer dramatic views of the Hudson River and the Palisades. The restaurant which sits on the Hudson between the George Washington Bridge to the south and the Tappan Zee Bridge to the north will be accessible by boat, train or car giving us access to the entire tri-state area. “Xaviars on the Hudson” will be a contemporary interpretation of all we have learned and experienced over the past 2 decades since founding Xaviars in 1983.
“Xaviars on the Hudson” will combine the high level of cuisine currently being offered at Xaviars at Piermont with the large format ala carte menu presented at Restaurant X. Xaviars on the Hudson will also achieve the relaxed, warm and convivial atmosphere unique to our Freelance Café. The restaurant will accommodate more than 200 guests in an array of special environments. The main dinning salon with its floor to ceiling windows over looking the Hudson and Palisades will offer our contemporary American cuisine with our signature Hudson Valley influences and a predominance of seafood offerings. Just off the main dining room, “The Silenus Room” will be a small private wine cellar that will seat up to 15 people at one specially designed table and will offer multi course food and wine pairings. Perched above the main dinning room is a mezzanine level that looks down on to the dining room proper, and will accommodate up to 100 people for private events.
“Xaviars on the Hudson” will also contain a lively lounge area. The lounge area which will have southern views looking out onto the City and towards the George Washington Bridge will feature a 20 plus seat liquor bar, seating for 10 guests at our Sushi bar which looks into the open kitchen and lounge seating for almost 40 guests. In addition to our full dinner menu guests in the lounge area will be offered a special menu which will incorporate sushi like preparations of both hot and cold seafood’s as well as small plates suitable for sharing or creating impromptu tasting menus.
I look forward to welcoming you & having the opportunity to cook for you very soon,
Peter X. Kelly
